Nirvana
This three-piece band that emerged out of 90's Washington definitely takes the cake for one of my favorite bands of all time. When these guys entered the music scene, they rocked the hell out of it. They took their own spin on punk and helped morph it into the genre we now know today as grunge. My favorite thing about Nirvana is how much raw emotion is in the music, especially on their projects like "In Utero," and even more so especially on their demos and their final song "You Know You're Right." Kurt Cobain's raw emotion and pain shines through in such a crazy way.
Fleshwater
Fleshwater is an alternative metal band that have been making their rounds through my playlists as of late. Their first release: "We're not Here to be Loved" is a project that has banger after banger on it. It isn't often that you hear a female lead vocalist in a metal band, but Fleshwater made it happen with Mirsy. Her voice is beautiful and is a great contrast to the instruments. I got to see them live in april 2026!
